Etude House Kissful Lip Care Concealer

Hello!
Sorry for the long hiatus.. been very very busy lately (and honestly, I'm one of the worst procrastinator in the world).. but finally I'm back!
... for another review. This time I want to share my thoughts about Etude House Kissful Lip Care Concealer.

First thing first.. What is lip concealer...?

Lip concealer, hence the name, is concealer for the lips. Regular concealers are helpful in other areas of the face, but these products are generally not intended for use on your lips since your skin tone is different in that area
Lip concealer can be used for :
  • Help to minimize dark areas on and around your mouth, as well a s reduce redness associated with blemishes.
  • Can be used as a primer for lipsticks. Applying lip concealers prior to lipstick can make the shade brighter and truer to the color shown on the product’s package.
  • Can help a lipstick color stay in place longer and avoid creasing or feathering.
These concealers come in a variety of styles, from traditional sticks to liquid versions. A solid lip concealer is similar in appearance and texture to a chapstick, and is less messy during use. At the same time, liquid concealers are often preferred if you only need to touch up a small area of the lips, as they sometimes come with a small applicator.

So! Let's move on to the review.

Desciption: This lip concealer even outs the redness in lips, creating a smooth and neutral surface for long-lasting lipstick application.
Ingredients: Triethylhexanoin, Methyl Methacrylate Crosspolymer, Diisostearyl Malate, Titanium Dioxide (Ci 77891), Polyglyceryl-2 Triisostearate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Silica, Ceresin, Caprylyl Methicone, Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil, Ozokerite, Polymethylsilsesquioxane, Diglyceryl Sebacate/Isopalmitate, Mica (Ci 77019), Vp/Hexadecene Copolymer, Synthetic Wax, Iron Oxides (Ci 77492), Methicone, Ethylene/Propylene Copolymer, Iron Oxides (Ci 77491), Tocopheryl Acetate, Caprylyl Glycol, Iron Oxides (Ci 77499), Mangifera Indica (Mango) Seed Butter

Etude House Kissful Lip Care Concealer comes in a chapstick packaging, like usual lip products. I love how this lip concealer comes in a tube instead of a pot like many other lip concealers on the market, because it makes it easier to apply to the lips and also more hygienic.
The packaging made from plastic with the descriptions and ingredients printed on stickers. The quality of the packaging is very so-so, I'm afraid it will be broken if I accidentally drop it.

I think you got a lot of product for the price tag. Even if you're going to use it everyday, it will last quite long. For approx USD 4.5 you'll got 0.12 oz. / 3.5 g.

As you can see, this concealer works great on my pigmented lips. It covers the redness and pigmentation very well. On this picture I did not apply any lipbalm before, and look how dry it is. *eeek*

The texture of Etude House Kissful Lip Care Concealer is creamy enough but this product is very drying if you directly apply it over your lips. This method gives you the best coverage but emphasizes dead skin on your lips. The best way to apply this concealer is by dabbing and blending it well with your fingers (look at the promotional pic below.)

Etude House Kissful Lip Care Concealer is just an ordinary concealer comes in chapstick packaging. The texture is creamy but still a bit drying. You must apply it properly to avoid (too much) dryness. But despite the drying effect, I love how this concealer really do the claims well : it covers the imperfections of my lips.

+ Do the claims well
+ Easy to use, hygienic
+ Affordable
- Drying
- Cheap packaging

you may....
TAKE IT
if you're looking for an affordable lip concealer.
LEAVE IT
if you have dry lips and do not have time to scrub them beforehand.

*****

Some useful tips:
  • In order to avoid placing too much of the product on the lips, consider applying the concealer with your fingertip and gently blending it in.
  • The best lip concealer should be one that matches your skin tone best, similar to that of a liquid foundation.
  • To keep your lips moisturized: Scrub your lips regularly, wear lipbalm, and drink lots and lots of water.

What's your favorite lip concealer?

Cheers,

  1. How interesting! I can totally see how this would be very helpful for some ladies! I have very pigmented lips but my lips are also dry and also peel a lot so I don't think this would help my lips!
